Salvation Army continues to find ways to serve community during pandemic

Organization is sheltering about 32 people each night

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The Salvation Army of La Crosse County is continuing to help those in need.

The Salvation army is recognizing the impact of the organization’s Emergency Shelter and Meal Service programs.

The organization is also making use of their Emergency Disaster Services Canteen to deliver items to people in need.

“We send it out five days a week and make sure that anybody that’s unsheltered has access to meals and food pantry baskets, hygiene supplies, blankets, clothing, shoes, kind of anything that anybody needs,” said Krista Coey, Salvation Army of La Crosse County director of social services.

The organization is still sheltering about 32 people nightly in their emergency shelter.
