Saint Mary’s softball swept at home, baseball splits with Gusties

Saint Mary’s baseball picked up a split in a MIAC doubleheader with Gustavus Adolphus Friday afternoon, while Saint Mary’s softball dropped two at home to a tough UW-Platteville team.

The baseball team couldn’t get the offense going in game one and fell 10-3.

In game two the Cardinals capitalized on four Gustavus errors for two big innings to earn a 9-5 win.

Softball’s offense struggled against Platteville. Winona alum Ashton Hoeppner shut down the Cardinals in game one as the Pioneers won 12-3. Game two’s loss was 14-0.
