Ruth A. Bailey, age 94, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 10, 2020, surrounded by her children.

Ruth A. Bailey, age 94, of Tomah, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 10, 2020, surrounded by her children. She was born August 8, 1925, to Charles and Margaret (Bartels) Gollnick in Oakdale, Wisconsin. Ruth was united in marriage to Douglas Bailey May 5, 1943, in Tomah, Wisconsin.

Ruth spent her working years at Fort McCoy where she retired after 26 years as Manager in the Government Surplus Department. She was a dedicated member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, serving as a member of the Esther/Rachel Circle. Ruth was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Laureate Theta Sorority for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing in many bridge clubs and tournaments throughout her life, as well as golf league and especially golfing with her sister, Zetta. More than anything, Ruth loved her family. They always enjoyed their Saturday morning get togethers at the farm for coffee and Ruth’s special treats. She was proud to have her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren near her where she could attend many of their events.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Jim) Steele, Shirley Aller (special friend, Jeff Adler) Diane (Mike) Welch and Glen Bailey (special friend, Nancy Jacob), grandchildren, Ryan (Shana) Steele, Aaron Steele, Aubrey (Troy) Gilson, Whitney (John) Alibrandi, Koral (David Reeher) Bailey and Jaden (Emilee) Bailey, great grandchildren, Sierra and Ashton Steele, Jesse Johnson, Cylis and Simon Brummond, Infinity, Zane, and Kenzie Reeher, Daya Bolstad, Owen Bailey, and soon to be great granddaughter, baby Alibrandi, her sister, Zetta (Fritz) Fredrickson; along with her very dear friends, Jacqueline (David) Morton, Tom (Katie) Murphy, and Becky Weyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret, her beloved husband, Doug, son, Ronald, son-in-law, Greg Aller, granddaughter, Misha Welch Bolstad and brothers, Floyd Gollnick, Reuben Gollnick, and Gerald Gollnick.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah, WI. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tomah or Chasing Daylight Animal Shelter, Tomah.
