Rudolph Dash shows kids how to exercise during winter

Some area kids were up exercising Saturday morning in Onalaska.

The YMCA held its first event of the annual Winter Walk Run series.

On Saturday morning, adults participated in the Jingle Bell Run which was followed by the Kid’s Rudolph Dash Fun Run.

Over 90 kids ages 3 to 12 years old participated in the run.

Organizers say the event is a way to show how you can still stay active during the winter.

“When the temperatures are a little colder, it can be a little tougher to get active so the goal with both of these two events is to just get everyone out and active having fun on a nice day actually,” said Shawn McClone, event coordinator with the La Crosse Y.M.C.A.

The Winter Walk Run series has been going on for the past four years.
