Roller-Coaster Ride in Temps This Week -Bill Graul
Total Lunar Eclipse Early Tuesday Morning
WHAT WE’RE TRACKING:
Fasten your seat belts for what is going to be a rather wild week of weather across the region. Expect highs to warm into the 60s on Wednesday and Thursday… then come crashing down Friday with highs about 30-degrees colder. Not only that, but expect the chance for showers and t-storms as the colder air arrives later Thursday… and plenty of wind as well.
TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE:
Skies will turn partly cloudy for much of tonight, allowing for the viewing of a full moon and a total lunar eclipse. If you want to see the eclipse, you’re going to have to get up super early. Check out the timing details in the graphic below. Bundle up as well, as overnight lows will be seasonably chilly in the 27-35F range.
WARMER TEMPS MID-WEEK:
A bit warmer Tuesday with a mix of sun and clouds. Small chance of showers late in the day north/west. No excuses to not get out and vote on Tuesday! Chance for scattered showers and a few t-storms Tuesday night region-wide. Warmer for Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the 60s. Small chance of showers Wednesday, then the approach of a strong cold front will bring the chance for showers and t-storms Thursday, especially later in the day into Thursday evening. Quite windy Thursday as well.
COLDEST AIR OF SEASON BY FRIDAY:
Temps come crashing down behind the cold front, with highs Friday only in the mid 30s… about 30-degrees colder than Thursday. There could even be some light snow showers or flurries in spots. It stays cold right through next weekend with highs ranging from the upper 20s to low-mid 30s and overnight lows in the teens and low 20s. Brrr!
Have a great week! -Meteorologist Bill Graul
