Rockin’ in a Winter FUNderland event raises money for Cameron Park
City wants to add a playground and entertainment stage to Cameron Park
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — It may not have felt like a winter wonderland outside Saturday but many enjoyed some outdoor winter activities to raise money for a local park.
The city is looking to improve Cameron Park in downtown La Crosse by adding a playground and an entertainment stage
To help raise money, The F.U.N Group and Downtown Mainstreet put on the Rockin’ in a Winter FUNderland event Saturday. The event featured volleyball, a snowball toss and other games.
One organizer says it’s a family friendly event that benefits La Crosse.
“Downtown is growing. We are going through a transformative time in the downtown district with new hotels, new businesses and things like that so we want to upgrade our parks and all of the other things people come downtown to enjoy,” said Robin Moses, executive director of Downtown Mainstreet, Inc.
The event continues Saturday night for a ‘Thaw Out Party’ at the Cavalier Theatre. They will have live entertainment from ‘The Groove Station’ and “Mario Street Music” from 6:00-11:00 p.m. Saturday. It is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.
