Riverside Park in La Crosse to get bigger, heated bathrooms
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — The bathrooms on Riverside Park’s south side will be enlarged and heated for year-round use in a renovation project set for a September groundbreaking.
The city of La Crosse designated $250,000 in its 2022 capital improvements budget to go toward renovating the bathrooms. The Friends of Riverside Park matched that amount.
The heated facility will include more stalls in both the men and women’s bathrooms, a new family restroom, more urinals and storage space for Riverside Park events.
“The need is there,” said Dan Trussoni, buildings and grounds manager of the city’s Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department. “We see a lot of lines during the events, so we’re just trying to take some pressure off of the events as well.”
The Parks and Rec Department will break ground on the bathrooms in September, with the hope of completing the project by fall.
