Riverside Park band shell project fund gets $13,000 donation at Moon Tunes
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A local charity is doing what it can to help repair a La Crosse landmark.
The Sprout for Kids Foundation, which was created by the owners of Pearl Street Brewery, presented a check for $13,000 to Mayor Tim Kabat for the Riverside Band Shelter fund Wednesday night during Moon Tunes.
The money was raised through a summers’ worth of beer sales by Pearl Street Brewery and t-shirt sales by On Three Printing at the riverside concert series.
“It’s because of the community that we are where we are right now, so it’s kind of a way for us to give back,” said Pearl Street Brewery brand ambassador Caleb Harris.
Pearl Street Brewery and On Three Printing also donated $10,000 to the band shell project last year.
City officials hope to start work on it by next year.
