Riverside Museum moves into new space in La Crosse

Museum first opened in Riverside Park building in 1990

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Thursday was moving day for a museum in La Crosse.

The La Crosse County Historical Society’s Riverside Museum is moving into a new space.

It will be near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Main Street.

The move comes as the current space in the building at the north of Riverside Park is set to be redeveloped.

The museum officially closed late last year after 30 years in the building.

New space will give new opportunities to celebrate the history of our area.

“We’re going to reuse a lot of the same things that were in this museum. We’re going to re-interpret the exhibits and update, so it can be more interpretive and better examples of local history,” La Crosse County Historical Society curator Amy Vach.

They are hopeful have the museum open in its new space June 1st.
