Ridgefest brings families, groups together

Event honors history of Middle Ridge

An area festival Sunday highlighted the rich history of one ridge near La Crosse.

The Ridgefest and Classic Auto Show was held along Middle Ridge, between La Crosse and Cashton.

The event had live music, a few games of bingo, a raffle and displays featuring classic cars and tractors.

Last year, the event was canceled due to road construction.

Organizers said the event brings together many families who have a shared connection to Middle Ridge.
“It actually brings together a lot of people that are interested in the ridge, who had parents, grandparents, relatives, who played some role in the history of the ridge. We like to say it was a theme park, just like Disneyland, only smaller, but theme here is the rural history, the history of the area,” said Paul Hundt, chairman of Ridge History Park.

Ridgefest has been an annual tradition for over ten years.
