Respite providers needed in La Crosse County

The number of respite homes in the county is down.

LA CROSSE CO., Wis. (WKBT) – You can help La Crosse County families with short term assistance.

County leaders are seeking ‘respite providers’ to offer short-term care to children on evenings, weekends, or as needed, to give parents a break.

The number of respite homes in the county is down, but the need is not.

“Our foster parents do respite for each other. But when they have a full household, sometimes it’s hard to always find the other foster home to do that respite when you really need it,” said Lila Barlow, with La Crosse County Foster Care.

Anyone interested in helping is asked to call (608) 789-4834.
