Residents get first look at plans for new rest area on French Island
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Area residents got the first look Wednesday night at plans for a new rest area on Interstate 90.
Members from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation unveiled plans for the rest area at mile marker one on French Island.
The new building will include more room for parking and a viewing area for visitors to see the river.
At the meeting, people also got a chance to give their input on the project before crews get started on construction.
The cost of the project has yet to be determined.
Construction is expected to start next May.
