Representative Kind discusses priorities for 116th Congress
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Representative Ron Kind is discussing his legislative priorities for the upcoming congressional session.
Kind lists lowering healthcare cost, fixing infrastructure and reauthorizing the Higher Education Act as priorities.
Democrats have not held the majority for the U.S. House of representatives since 2009.
Representative Kind says national discussion about immigration makes now a good time to see reforms.
“I think now is the perfect time to deal with comprehensive immigration reform. There are many problems we have with the current immigration system in our country, not just what is happening along the southern border. This would be a perfect time for us to come together, have that discussion as a nation and fix what has been broken for a very long time,” said Representative Ron Kind.
Kind has served as the representative for Wisconsin’s 3rd district since 1997.
