Report following alleged misconduct by UWL professor now in Chancellor Gow’s hands
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A report put together following an investigation into alleged misconduct by a U-W-La Crosse professor is now in the hands of the university’s chancellor.
In a statement to News 8, UWL Chancellor Joe Gow says “I have received the report, I’ve read the report and I have asked to meet with UW System attorneys to talk about next steps and what information we can release publicly at this time.”
Art Department Chair Joel Elgin was placed on leave in September.
The investigation was reopened into Elgin at that time after a female student posted on social media, accusing Elgin of trying to lift up her shirt in a locked room at the university during her freshman year.
The student also said in the post that it had been months since she had heard anything about her complaint from the university after being told they would follow up.
