Renewable, alternative fuel coming to Kwik Trip locations
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A renewable fuel will be available for drivers across the Midwest, thanks to a local company.
Kwik Trip is partnering with Dane County to extract methane gas from County landfills.
That methane will be turned into Compressed Natural Gas.
The new fuel will have an impact on the environment.
“We’re taking a raw ingredient, if you will, and putting it into passenger and fleet vehicles which is more organic in nature, so we’re reducing that carbon footprint by over eighty percent,” said Dave King, Kwik Trip community relations manager.
Thirty-five Kwik Trip locations, including three locations in the La Crosse area, sell Compressed Natural Gas.
