‘Remembering Our Fallen’ exhibit returning to La Crosse

Exhibit includes military and personal photos of the soldiers killed during the War on Terror

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A traveling memorial honoring the more than 5,000 men and women killed during the War on Terror is returning to La Crosse.

The “Remembering Our Fallen” exhibit, which includes military and personal photos of the soldiers, will be at Viterbo University. The exhibit, which was at Western Technical College in July, helps people understand individuals’ sacrifices for the country.

“Every one of those faces had somebody that loved them,” said Viterbo University student James Michael. “And they had to say goodbye to someone for the last time, unknowingly, that they were never going to come back. You put yourself and have a little empathy and put yourself in these families member’s shoes, that alone should enough get you down here.”

An opening ceremony will take place at noon Wednesday.

The display in Viterbo’s Assisi Courtyard will be open during daylight hours through Sunday.

More details about the exhibit are available here.
