Registration open for Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — With ice out on the river, it’s hard to think about Dragon Boat racing, but registration is now open for the 7th annual Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival coming up this summer.
Money raised during the event supports Mayo Clinic Health System’s Center for Breast Care.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse will also receive money to support programs.
Festival organizers say the joy felt at the event is hard to put into words.
“You just have to come and check it out. The food trucks are awesome, the family activities are very fun and the spirit and energy is something unexplainable,” said Heidi Odegaard, Community Events Coordinator for Mayo Clinic Health System.
The Big Blue Dragon Boat Festival is June 22nd on the Black River near La Crosse’s Copeland Park.
More information is on the festival’s website, BigBlueDragonBoat.com.
