‘Read Across America’ has students embracing reading
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — Reading is connecting students from our area with kids across the country.
Students at Holmen’s Viking Elementary joined in for Read Across America Friday.
The day was created in 1997 as a way to encourage kids to read.
Books are providing ways for students to connect with things they enjoy.
“I think reading is important because you learn a lot from reading and it just gets you into more stuff and it could and it could get you interested in new things,” said Madi Molling, 4th grader at Holmen’s Viking Elementary.
Celebrations are usually held on March 2nd, the birthday of children’s author Doctor Seuss.
