Random Acts of Kindness Forever Fund in La Crosse reaches $500,000 of donations

Donations helped students 2,400 times during the past year

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A half million dollars will make sure children in La Crosse have clothing schools supplies and other essential items.

The La Crosse Public Education Foundation announced that donation total for the “Random Acts of Kindness Forever Fund” Wednesday morning.

The fundraising effort will provide about two-thirds of the money needed for the effort.

Students were helped 2,400 times by the fund last year.

“If La Crosse identifies a need, we tackle it. We tackle it ourselves. And we usually go well above what the need happens to be,” said Tom Thompson, president of the La Crosse Public Education Foundation board.

Donations are still be accepted for the fund on the Random Acts of Kindness website.
