Quarterback battle taking center stage for Tomah

Sometimes a little competition is good. That’s the way the Tomah football team sees it.

For the first time in Brad Plueger’s 12 year tenure as head coach, the Timberwolves have a quarterback battle ahead of week 1.

Both junior Connor Prielipp and senior Peter Brey took snaps for Tomah in 2016.

Whoever wins the starting job will try to lead the Timberwolves back to the playoffs after winning only two games last year.

It’s a competitive battle, but it may help Tomah in the end.

“They’ve been doing a really good job of being great teammates to each other. But yet competing and trying to beat the other guy out. Competition creates success. The more competition we can have at every single position, the more successful you will be throughout the year,” Brad Plueger said.

“I think it’s fun. It brings out the best of both of us, me and Connor. I’m glad that he’s out. We both perform well. We push each other. I just think it will help our team having a lefty and a righty. It will be good for the team,” Peter Brey said.
