Putt’n for Pooches raises funds for La Crosse Police K-9
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A golf outing is celebrating some of the La Crosse Police staff.
The ninth annual Putt’n for Pooches golf outing was held Monday at Forest Hills Golf Course.
The event is an 18 hole round of golf featuring the La Crosse Police Department’s K-9 Unit.
La Crosse Police K-9s were on hand to help celebrate the day.
Officers say their four-legged friends hold vital roles in the department.
“Extremely valuable, they do a little bit of everything. Anywhere to bridging the gap in the community, a lot of people don’t come up to police anymore, whether they’re afraid to, they don’t feel comfortable, but everybody loves a dog,” said Officer Dakota Jelinski of the La Crosse Police Department.
All proceeds benefit the La Crosse Police Department’s K-9 program.
