Pump House to kick off season with virtual reception for three artists

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Pump House Regional Arts Center will kick off its 2020-21 season with a virtual artist reception from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
Featured artists will be:
• Joan Finnegan — “The Passages and Byways of Nature” will show how Finnegan’s oil paintings “discover the world around us in a softer sense, focusing on the beauty and joy of nature.”

Jessie Fritsch strives to teach about honey bees.

• Jessie Fritsch — “Protect the Pollinators” demonstrates Fritsch’s goal to “educate people about the honey bee, how to protect pollinators and encaustic art.”
• Kari Hogden — “Saguaros I Have Met” is a collection of Hogden oil paintings that “depict the saguaro cacti, their many occupants and their similarity to humans.”
The artists will be present to showcase their work, and the public can attend, for free, virtually via Zoom and a livestream to the Pump House Facebook page. Their work also will be displayed in the Pump House galleries from Wednesday, Sept. 16, through Saturday, Nov. 7.
