Public meeting highlights planned improvements to La Crosse Street
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation held a public meeting about La Crosse Street improvements on Thursday at the UW-La Crosse Cleary Alumni Center.
Proposed work includes replacing pavement, and adding a two-way left turn lane along the road between Oakland Street and Losey Boulevard near UW-La Crosse’s campus.
The project will also replace sewers and the water main as necessary.
Project managers say the main reason for this project is for safety related issues in a high traffic area.
Exhibits showing potential impacts and traffic control were on display at the meeting.
Construction for this project is currently scheduled for 2022, and could take half a year to complete.
