PSC approves Xcel Energy rate increase
MADISON, Wis. (WKBT) — Your next energy bill could cost you a little extra money.
Public Service Commission of Wisconsin approved an overall electric rate increase of 1.1% Thursday for Xcel Energy customers.
The company’s base rate, the minimum fee you pay for having electricity, will go up from $8 to $14 starting January 1st. Xcel will simultaneously be lowering usage fee rates.
Xcel says the typical electricity customer is expected to see an increase of less than one dollar per month.
