Protesters peacefully march down the streets of Tomah
TOMAH, Wis. (WKBT) – Protesters could be seen peacefully marching through the streets of Tomah on Tuesday evening, joining in on the movement happening nationwide, honoring George Floyd, and calling for an end to police brutality.
Starting at Gillett Park, they traveled along Superior Avenue.
The word got out through a Facebook post and the organizer who shared it said there couldn’t have been a better turnout.
He said change starts with you.
“We have to change this world. You’ve got to be the change you want in this world. You have to have a voice, you have to stand up, you have to speak up.”
The Tomah Police Department and the City of Tomah put out a statement that says they support First Amendment Rights which allow citizens to assemble peacefully.
