‘Pride in the Park’ returns to La Crosse

Equality celebration offers entertainment, fun for everyone

A pride rally celebrating the advancements made for the LGBTQ community returns to La Crosse this weekend.

The 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection’s annual ‘Pride in the Park’ event is a chance for everyone to celebrate equality. The free Riverside festivities will include live music, games, vendors and more.

While the event is free, the group accepts donations during the festivities to help fund their local programs.

Organizers say Friday night’s fundraiser ‘So You Think You Can Drag?’ is a chance for people to relax and have some fun.

“We all go through things in life and, to me, drag shows are meant for people to, you know, give people who are going through a hard time to just forget about it and just enjoy yourself and get together and come to one as a community, as a family,” said Former Miss Gay United States Brandonna Lareese.

‘So You Think You Can Drag?’ starts at eight Friday night at the La Crosse Center. Proceeds raised at the event go towards the 7 Rivers LGBTQ center.
