‘Pride in the Park’ celebrates advancements in equality
LGBTQ community hosts festivities and celebration
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — It has been an eventful year for the LGBTQ community.
The most recent being a local pride rally celebrating the advances made towards equality.
The 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection’s “Pride in the Park” brought hundreds out to Riverside Park in La Crosse on Saturday. There are vendors, food vendors and, of course, live entertainment.
Every year, one organizer says more and more people join the pride rally.
“I would have never imagined being at a pride where so much has happened to kind of bring the community up to a place of equality, and so this really is a great celebration for us this year with all that has happened,” said 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection Executive Director Jackson Jantzen.
The celebration continues Sunday with “Putting for Pride” at the Pine Creek Golf Course in La Crescent.
