Prairie du Chien’s Sagedahl back with Loggers
Had to quarantine due to COVID-19 before joining roster
The Loggers bring in talent from all over the country each summer, but this season they’ve also brought in a familiar face.
Prairie du Chien’s own Chas Sagedahl is back for his second summer with the Loggers, previously playing for the team in 2018. Sagedahl wasn’t among those who arrived weeks before opening day, for one important reason.
Chas Sagedahl, “I actually had coronavirus so we had to quarantine.
“It wasn’t too bad. I didn’t have any symptoms. I just stayed at home and basically practiced baseball and played video games.”
He was able to throw against a net in his basement, but his first week with the team has come with difficulties.
“We shut down again, and then had to revamp all the way back up,” Sagedahl said. “The first start got to me a little bit, but I feel like I’m getting my groove back.”
His first outing on the Fourth of July he pitched just 2/3 of an inning, walked five and allowed four earned runs. Three days later he tossed a scoreless inning and stranded a couple runners.
Sagedahl says he’s excited to be playing for La Crosse again and hopes to work on his velocity this summer.
