Popcorn machine donated to West Salem Police Department
Donation made by Sara Rose Hougom Foundation
WEST SALEM, Wis. (WKBT) – A special donation could make a kernel a hot new addition to the West Salem Police Department.
The Sara Rose Hougom Foundation donated a popcorn machine to the department Wednesday morning.
Along with the machine, Sara’s mom Sherry shared a message of thanks to department members.
Sara Hougom lost her life in a homicide in 2012, at just 20-years-old.
The donation is a reminder for police members of the impact they have on the community.
“I’ve always wanted to do a thank you, a special thank you. Something that was more than just a thank you on the wall. Sara loved popcorn. I think popcorn always brings a smile to your face,” said Sara Hougom’s mother, Sherry Hougom.
Popcorn machine donations are planned at the Campbell and Onalaska Police Departments, as well as the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department.
