Police release more information regarding weekend robbery

Police have released more information about the La Crosse robbery that took place inside an area Festival Foods.

Three suspects are in custody for involvement in the robbery.

Police located the suspect vehicle and the getaway driver Rodney Simmons, 41, of Illinois. Simmons is being charged with party to the crime of robbery and possession of counterfeit money.

Tenesha Sherburn, 36, was also arrested for aiding in a crime and for three counts of child neglect.

Three children, a 10-year-old, a 7-year-old and a 10-month-old were found left unattended during a search warrant of the Sherburn’s home. The investigators reported the residence to be in filth and squalor with an estimated 300+ empty syringes strewn throughout.

At this time police have not recovered any of the $862.00 that was reported stolen.

La Crosse police had arrested Shane Sherburn, 37, Monday after asking the public for assistance in identifying him from the Credit Union security cam footage.

Police believe Shane Sherburn walked into the bank, handed the bank teller a withdrawal slip with “STAY CALM, GIVE ME YOUR MONEY AND NO ONE GET HURT,” written on it.

According to the Criminal Complaint Sherburn said he owed Simmons $850 for heroin and was threatened by Simmons to rob the Credit Union.

No weapon was shown during the robbery.
