Police look for help in identifying man involved in Kwik Trip armed robbery

The doors of this north side Kwik Trip see customers at all hours of the day.

But early this morning, a man ran through those doors covering his face with a hoodie and bandana. He then jumped over the counter and threatened a clerk with what police say is a 3-inch-long folding knife before taking cash from the register and running off.

Outdoor security cameras show the man ran toward a nearby neighborhood.

“We are asking for the public’s assistance in locating him.”

Captain Jason Melby of the La Crosse P.D. says that home security cameras and home doorbell cameras can help in the investigation.

“If you have an exterior video camera, the individual very easily could have gone into the neighborhood over there, and if you could just view your video camera if you got something,” explained Melby.

“It’s very concerning,” added Ryan Flynn of Flynn’s Custom Boat Covers Plus.

Nearby Cameras have helped those at Flynn’s Custom Boat Covers Plus, a shop on the same block as the Kwik Trip to stay safe.

“There are other businesses that have security cameras, just staying vigilant and keeping an eye on what’s out there,” said Flynn.

They say that cameras have helped the police in investigations before, and believes that the combined use of north side business cameras and ho me security cameras can help prevent this from happening again.

“It’s not just businesses, if you can get the whole community working together, you can get a lot done working together,” said Flynn.
