Police investigating after armed robbery at La Crosse gas station

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Police are investigating after an armed robbery Sunday at the Citgo on La Crosse’s south side.

Video taken from the gas station’s security cameras show two men armed with guns around 8:50 p.m. Sunday.

Business owner Tony was there alone at the time when the men came in asking for money. Eventually, they pulled out their guns and pointed them at him.

“I was so scared this time, when the two guys had guns. Within one minute he had a gun,” Tony said. “I was so scared, I go back in wine section. I say, ‘Whatever you like, you take it.’ So he take everything.”

The men took about $1400 and cigars. When leaving the store, the men also pointed their guns at a man who was coming to help Tony with groceries.

Tony said that the gunmen told his helper to get off the property, or they will shoot. He does not know the men who came in.

Tony said he’s still scared today, and in the 15 years he’s owned the store, nothing like this has happened.

The La Crosse Police Department told News 8 Now that the investigation is still ongoing, and they have no other information at this time.
