Poage Park Ice Skating Rink opens

La Crosse’s Poage Park opens its ice rink for the winter season

The Poage Park Ice Skating Rink opens this afternoon.

According to the City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department, the rink will open at 4 p.m. today. The hours for the season, weather permitting, will be Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday or non-school days from Noon to 8 p.m.

Hot chocolate and popcorn will be available for purchase. The public can rent skates free of charge.

The City maintains two other outdoor ice skating rinks.

The Copeland Park Oktoberfest Shelter rink is open Monday through Sunday from 4 to 10 p.m., but is closed Thursday nights for Broomball League.

The Riverside Park Chad Erickson ice rink is available for those with their own skates. Starting Wednesday January 15, 2020 the warming trailer and free skate use will be available: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 5-8pm and Saturday and Sunday: Noon-8pm.
