Physics Department at UWL receives top marks
The last time they were 'number one' was in 2011 through 2013
LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – The physics department at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is regularly considered one of the best for undergraduates and this year is no different.
From 2015 to 2017 the UWL physics department awarded on average 35 degrees a year, making it the best in the nation among bachelor degree-granting institutions, according to the American Physical Society.
Students often work with faculty on research projects, giving students opportunities to gain hands-on research experience as an undergraduate.
The physics department also invites a Nobel prize-winning physicist to campus each year.
The Nobel Laureate meets and speaks with students and faculty about their unique discovery.
UWL consistently has a high amount of physics graduates, the last time they were ‘number one’ was in 2011 through 2013.
