Pepin/Alma football looking to complete perfect season, capture conference title

The Pepin/Alma football team finished in second place in back-to-back seasons, but this year the Eagles are a perfect 8-0 heading into their Week 9 matchup against Dairyland Conference foe Cochrane-Fountain City. The Pirates are 7-1.

“The last couple of years we’ve had close games, lost both conference championships, and came in second the last couple of years,” Pepin/Alma Head Coach Mike Olson said. “Players have been really focused, they push each other, and they build each other up. They’ve done a great job with that.”

The Eagles and Pirates clash at Cochrane-Fountain City High School on Friday night, with the Dairyland Conference title up for grabs. Blair-Taylor is also 5-1 in the conference, so if Cochrane-Fountain City and the Wildcats both win their respective matchups, there would be a three-way tie for first place.
