People make a ‘mad dash’ for their favorite art pieces at annual fundraiser
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — People made a mad dash Thursday night to get their hands on some original pieces of art.
The third annual Art Dash for the Franciscan Spirtuality Center was held at the Cargill room in La Crosse.
Each person with a ticket is assigned a number. When your number is randomly drawn, you dash to the art piece of your choice to take home.
Organizers say it’s a fast-paced, fun event that benefits a good cause.
“It’s to benefit the Franciscan Spirtuality Center and to help us provide programs and retreats and compassionate listening support groups for people in the greater La Crosse area,” said the Franciscan Spirtuality Center Director Audrey Lucier.
All of the art was donated by local artists and included everything from paintings to jewelry and fabric art. They hoped to raise $15,000 from this year’s event.
