Pastor Roger Reynolds Dissmore Sr., age 84, of Whitehall, died on Saturday, January 4, 2020 in his home.

Roger was born on November 7, 1935 in Whitehall to Clinton and Emma (Rasmussen) Dissmore. Roger married Marie Annette Phillipson on December 29, 1956 in Whitehall. Marie preceded Roger in death on September 24, 2012.

Rev. Roger R. Dissmore has been an Assemblies of God minister since graduating from North Central Bible College in 1957 when he pioneered the Hastings, Minnesota Assemblies of God Church. He also pastored Assemblies of God Churches in the Wisconsin/Northern Michigan District in Whitehall, Wisconsin Rapids, Whitewater, Glidden, Trout Creek, MI, Iron River, MI, and also pioneered the church in Bloomer, WI. He also had worked as a traveling minister in Ohio for a few years. As a retired minister for the last decade he was the visitation pastor and pastor emeritus of the Coulee Community Church, the church his father had built as a carpenter, where he had met his wife in 1936, married her in 1956, and will be buried next to her in 2020 in the local cemetery.

Roger enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He was a High School Basketball Star in Whitehall, Wisconsin, loved sports and taught all of his kids to play ping pong. Most importantly, he taught all of his kids to love and honor Jesus. He had a passion to tell people about Jesus so that they would make heaven their home. He had a heart for missions and raised a lot of money for missions around the world.

Roger is survived by five children, Pastor Jeffrey (Deborrah) Dissmore, Pastor Peter (Tixieanna) Dissmore, Sally Zielke, Roger (Carolyn) Dissmore Jr. and Perry (Nicole) Dissmore; 29 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremy) Brooks, Carrie (Michael) St. Clair, Joseph Dissmore, Dallas Dissmore, Petal (Michael) Savage, Siera Dissmore, Daniel Dissmore, Victoria Dissmore, Samuel (Jerika) Zielke, Charity (Nathaniel) Doucette, Josiah (Amy) Zielke, Gabriel (Sara) Zielke, Jubilee Zielke, Malachi (Johanna) Zielke, Hosanna Zielke, Elijah Zielke, Elizabeth Zielke, Tryphena Zielke, Michael Zielke, Barnabas Zielke, Jehiel Zielke, Hannah (Ryan) Workman, Rachel (Joseph) Adams, Roger Dissmore III, Hope (Steven) Olmstead, Caleb Dissmore, Kimberly Dissmore, Kathryn Dissmore and Jeremiah Dissmore; 25 great-grandchildren, Sofia, Julia, Nadia, Ezra, Mikayla, Jayce, Aidan, Breylyn, Zayda, Zaria, Cato, Rainna Joy, Eva, Ian, Bryce, Annalise, Jordan, Kylee, Raelyn, Cameron, Zane, Madisyn, Ajani, T and J.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roger was preceded in death by two daughters, Elizabeth Dissmore and Connie Herr; two brothers, David and Louis Dissmore; a sister, Allene Dell; a grandson, Israel Zielke and a son-in-law, Thomas Zielke.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coulee Community Church, formerly called the Whitehall Assembly of God Church, in Whitehall with Pastor John Oscar officiating. Burial will be in the Old Whitehall Cemetery in rural Whitehall.

Visitation will be Friday, January 10, 2020 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
