Partly Cloudy & Cooler Tonight -Bill Graul
Rather Cool Weekend In Store
Tonight’s Forecast Low: 45F / Saturday’s Forecast High: 58F…
First, a quick review of the storms that impacted our area Thursday and Thursday night. Numerous reports of hail… a wind gust of 62 mph at the La Crosse airport and a brief EF0 tornado confirmed just southeast of Sparta in the Town of Wells, WI.
Very heavy rainfall in some areas as well, due to storms “training” or repeatedly tracking over the same areas… centered near and north of the I-90 corridor. This caused street flooding, ponding of water and some mudslides.
Much calmer tonight and a fairly pleasant Friday evening. Partly cloudy and cooler overnight, with lows ranging from the upper 30s (north/east) to the mid 40s.
Mostly cloudy and cool Saturday with a slight chance of showers, especially south and southeast. Highs Saturday will only be in the 50s. Mainly dry Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds, perhaps a few sprinkles in spots during the afternoon. Highs Sunday will be in the low 60s. Keep in mind our average high this time of year is around 74F!
Looking Ahead… Mix of sun and clouds Monday, then chance of rain showers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temps will remain cool through the middle of next week, with highs in the low-mid 60s. Mostly cloudy Thursday with highs in the upper 60s. Warmer Friday and Saturday with highs back in the 70s. Friday looks dry, with isolated t-storms possible Saturday.
Happy Friday and have a great weekend! -Meteorologist Bill Graul
