Parks Dept. sets cut off for Haunted Mile after traffic backs up for miles
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)–Traffic from the Haunted Mile at Pettibone Park is still backed up Cass Street down to West Avenue, despite a cut off from La Crosse’s Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department.
The parks department said on Facebook that at 8 p.m. the last car at the intersection of 3rd Street and the Cass Street Bridge would be the final vehicle for the event. Likewise, at 8 p.m. the last vehicle at the La Crescent Kwik Trip, coming from the west would be the final vehicle for the Pettibone Haunted Mile.
Event coordinators apologize for any inconvenience or traffic delays.
Police have had to redirect traffic at times to relieve congestion.
If you are not going to the event, avoid the Cass Street bridge and the Pike between La Crosse and La Crescent, and use I-90 to cross the Mississippi River instead.
