Parents arrested, charged in death of 16-year-old girl

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) ��� Authorities have charged the parents of an emaciated 16-year-old West Des Moines girl who died in October.

The Des Moines Register says (http://dmreg.co/2gGFrWH ) a medical examiner found that Natalie Finn died from denial of critical care.

Her mother, 42-year-old Nicole Marie Finn, of West Des Moines, and father, Joseph Michael Finn II, of Urbandale, were arrested Thursday. Police say the mother is charged with first-degree murder, three counts of kidnapping and several other child endangerment and neglect counts.

Joseph Finn is charged with three counts of each of kidnapping, child endangerment and neglect.

Some of the counts involve two other children.

A neighbor reported to police that Natalie Finn had regularly asked for food before her death.

The Finns remained jailed Thursday and could not be reached for comment.
