Packers to visit Wisconsin academy cadets
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A group of current and former Green Bay Packers is set to visit cadets at the Wisconsin National Guard’s Challenge Academy.
Current Packers Jarrett Bush, Randall Cobb and Alex Green as well as alumni Santana Dotson, Aaron Taylor and Frank Taylor will visit the academy on Friday afternoon as part of the eighth annual Packers Tailgate Tour. Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy also will be with the group.
The Fort McCoy-based challenge academy is military-style boot camp open to boys and girls who have dropped out, been expelled or fallen at least a year behind in credits. The goal is to help teens earn their high school equivalency diplomas, learn essential job and life skills and become responsible citizens.
The Packers Tailgate Tour includes stops in five cities, including Tomah on Friday, May 17. The event will be held at the Tomah Recreation Park and benefit Tomah Area Cancer Support, Inc.
