Packers start Day 3 with offense, take Missouri WR Moore
The Green Bay Packers gave quarterback Aaron Rodgers three big targets on the third day of the NFL draft.
They chose three receivers, each 6-foot-3 or taller, starting with Missouri’s J’Mon Moore in the fourth round. He had team highs of 65 catches and 1,082 yards last season.
Green Bay added Marquez Valdes-Scantling from South Florida in the fifth round, and went receiver again in the sixth round by taking Notre Dame’s Equanimeous St. Brown.
There will be plenty of opportunities on the receiving group behind Davante Adams and Randall Cobb after veteran Jordy Nelson was cut in the offseason.
This was Brian Gutekunst’s first draft as general manager after taking over for the retired Ted Thompson in January. Gutekunst shored up the defense in the first three rounds, starting with Louisville cornerback Jaire Alexander in the first.
