Packers release 2 players, 4 remain on reserve/COVID-19 list

The Green Bay Packers have released fullback Jordan Jones and guard Cole Madison, the team announced Friday.

Madison was a fifth-round pick in 2018.

In other roster news, kicker Mason Crosby, tight end Jace Sternberger, defensive lineman Trevyon Hester, and linebacker Greg Roberts remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Players on this list either tested positive for the virus or came into contact with someone who did.

NBC’s Peter King reports that players who test positive and have symptoms must wait for 10 days after their positive test, be symptoms-free for 72 hours, test negative, and be approved by a team doctor to return to the team. Players who test positive and are asymptomatic must wait at least five days and test negative twice, per King.
