Packers: Jordy Nelson to miss rest of season for knee injury
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WISC) — The Green Bay Packers announced Monday wide receiver Jordy Nelson “sustained a significant knee injury” in Sunday’s preseason game.
The release did not say anything about Nelson having an ACL injury, but it did say he would be out for the rest of the season.
Nelson left Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a knee injury, and NFL.com reported that the team’s initial diagnosis is a torn ACL.
Nelson was injured when he went up to catch an Aaron Rodgers pass in the first quarter and went down to the turf immediately. He was not touched by a defender. Nelson got up and limped off the field.
Nelson had the best season of his career in 2014, when he was named to the Pro Bowl after catching 98 passes for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns.
