Packers coach visits kids in the hospital
McCarthy in Madison to promote charity golf tournament next month
MADISON, Wis. — Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy had a chance to visit some patients at the American Family Children’s Hospital Tuesday, brightening their day, and brightening his day, too.
McCarthy came to Madison Tuesday to help promote his seventh annual golf tournament at Bergamont in Oregon June 12-13. The event raises money for the American Family Children’s Hospital.
McCarthy is not only a football coach, but he’s a dad, too and visiting the cancer patients really hits home every time he does it.
“I feel younger,” said McCarthy. “Just kind of being here today really regenerates everything of what is most important, and that’s the lives of children.”
McCarthy said he visits American Family Children’s Hospital every year to put some smiles on the faces of the children and their families who are going through such challenging times. He said his visits really realign his priorities as well.
