More than 100 soccer teams compete in the Coulee Cup

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT)- This weekend, more than 100 soccer teams will take over La Crosse for this year’s Coulee Cup.

Teams from six different states will be playing across 3 different soccer complexes around La Crosse.

Tournament organizers are expecting 4,000-5,000 guests to visit the area, filling up various hotels and restaurants.

Games began yesterday and are expected to finish up tomorrow evening.

The tournament is hosted by Rush Wisconsin and it is the 5th year of the tournament.

“We have over 120 teams and were playing approximately 200 games this weekend. There are boys and girls ages 8-19,” said Rush Wisconsin West President, Scott Thesing.

Tournament organizers say a lot of teams want to participate in this tournament because they enjoy coming to La Crosse this time of year.
