Organizers prepare for Steppin’ Out in Pink
The event "walks-off" at 8:45 am, Saturday
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — La Crosse is starting to look a little more Pink as preparations are underway for an annual fundraising event.
Steppin’ Out in Pink kicks off Saturday morning at 8:45 am, and organizers were setting up at the Gundersen La Crosse Campus walking trail Friday.
There will be a 4.5 mile, and 2.5 mile route. Even if you decide not to walk, you can still support the cause by shopping at any of the 50 vendor booths on the grounds.
Organizers say this year should be a special one with 460 survivors and over 300 registered teams set to lace up their shoes and walk.
“It’s gone from one set of bleachers to six sets of bleachers to get all of these ladies out there,” said Special Events Manager for Gundersen Medical Foundation Debbie Kroner. “The rest of the experience is getting on the trail, listening to all the music along the way. So it’s just an overall cool experience.”
Friday was the last day to register online for Steppin’ Out in Pink. You can stop by the registration tent from 7:30 to 9:30 Saturday morning to register at the event.
