Opening date set for new Holmen Public Library
Opens September 11
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — An opening date is set for the new Holmen library.
The $4.3 million library is set to open on September 11. Construction began with a ground breaking at the end of August last year.
The current Holmen library will close the weekend before Labor Day as items are moved into the new, 18,000 square foot building.
County library officials say the additional space will benefit many local groups.
“Our programming is expected to increase, and in fact our partnerships are already growing with Holmen Park and Rec and the Holmen School District already looking at utilizing the space for programming,” said La Crosse County Library Director Chris McArdlerogo.
The library is part of a three-step process to improve the Holmen community. Improvements also included the police department built in 2015 and a possible community center in the future.
