Open enrollment for ACA health insurance ends December 15th

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Open enrollment for health insurance plans through the federal marketplace started November 1st.

Wisconsinites who need coverage are urged to jump on this opportunity to explore the different options available.

If you already have insurance through the marketplace this is also the time to renew, change, or update your plan.

This year there are more coverage options, plus rates are 3.4% lower on average compared to 2020.

Due to the pandemic, it’s expected that more people will opt-in for federal health insurance.

“This is really the opportunity for people who don’t have employer-sponsored coverage or maybe have lost their employer-sponsored coverage as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an opportunity to find affordable health care coverage,” said Nathan Houdek, Wisconsin Deputy Commissioner of Insurance

There are individual and family plans available.
