One student injured in school bus crash near Arcadia

One student was injured in a school bus crash near Arcadia this morning.

According to Superintendent Lance Bagstad of the Arcadia School District, at approximately 7:10 a.m. this morning a school bus tipped on its right side after sliding on greasy mud from road construction.

The crash happened near the intersection of County Road JJ and Kukowski Lane with approximately 20 passengers on board. All students were treated at the scene with no serious injuries reported, according to the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office.

Bagstad confirmed that all parents were contacted and students on the bus were transported to school via another bus. One student was taken via ambulance and treated for minor injuries.

The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Arcadia Police Department, Arcadia Fire Department, Dodge Fire Department, Arcadia Ambulance Service, and Tri State Ambulance.

The incident is still under investigation, authorities say.
